AEO Checker
Find public technical and content gaps that can make a page harder to crawl, understand or quote. VisRank reports evidence; it does not promise placement in Google AI features or any chatbot answer.

Evidence and limits
Does Google require special AEO markup
No. Google says the same foundational SEO practices used for Search also apply to its AI features. There is no special AEO tag that guarantees inclusion. VisRank therefore checks crawlability, visible answer structure, supported schema, entity context and source-readiness as diagnostic evidence—not as secret ranking factors.
In our public July 15 test, visrank.org returned 97/100 for AI readiness with one issue. Results are point-in-time observations and can change when a page, crawl policy or scanner method changes.

AEO signals that improve source readiness
AEO is not one tag. It is a set of technical and content signals that make a page easy for AI systems to parse, trust and summarize.
Structured data
JSON-LD, FAQPage, Organization, BreadcrumbList, HowTo and LocalBusiness schema signals.
Answer-ready content
Question headings, concise direct answers, extractable lists and semantic content depth.
AI crawler access
robots.txt access, crawl-critical metadata, and optional llms.txt context for non-Google tools that read it.
Entity clarity
Brand, product, audience, contact and topical signals that help AI systems identify your page.

AEO checker FAQ
What is an AEO checker
An AEO checker audits whether a web page is ready for answer engines such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI search tools. It checks structured data, direct answer formatting, entity clarity, AI crawler access and content signals that make a page easier to extract and cite.
How is AEO different from SEO
SEO focuses on ranking pages in search results. AEO focuses on making content easy for answer engines to understand, summarize and cite. A strong AEO page usually still needs technical SEO, but it also needs clear entities, structured data, concise answers and Q&A patterns.
What does VisRank check for AEO
VisRank checks AEO signals such as JSON-LD structured data, visible Q&A patterns, Organization schema, BreadcrumbList, step-by-step content, semantic headings, contact details, entity clarity, llms.txt, AI crawler access, content depth, freshness and citability patterns.
Can an AEO checker guarantee Google AI Overview placement
No. Google and AI search engines decide which sources to cite algorithmically. An AEO checker cannot guarantee inclusion, but it can find technical and content gaps that make citation less likely or impossible.
