Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data VisRank (“we”, “us”) collects, why, and how you can control it. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are
VisRank is a website visibility audit tool operated by Andrei Mironiuk, based in Auckland, New Zealand. Contact: general@visrank.org.
2. Data we collect
2a. Scan data (anonymous use)
When you run a free scan without logging in, we store:
- The URL you submitted
- Scan results (scores, issues, metadata fetched from the target site)
- Timestamp and a random scan ID
We do not store your IP address or browser fingerprint against scan results.
2b. Account data (registered users)
If you create an account, we additionally store:
- Email address (for login and notifications)
- Subscription status (free / report / monitoring)
- Scan history linked to your account
- Competitor URLs and alert settings you configure
2c. Payment data
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store credit card numbers. Stripe shares a customer ID and payment status with us after a successful transaction.
2d. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate page traffic. This sets cookies and collects anonymised usage data. You can opt out via your browser's cookie settings or by using a content blocker.
3. How we use your data
- To display your audit results and history
- To send email alerts when your website score drops (monitoring subscribers only)
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To improve VisRank by analysing aggregate usage patterns
- To respond to support enquiries
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

5. Data retention
- Anonymous scans — retained for 90 days, then deleted
- Account data — retained while your account is active
- Deleted accounts — all data removed within 30 days of account deletion
6. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for email notifications (unsubscribe link in every email)

7. Cookies
We use a minimal number of cookies: a session cookie for authentication (if logged in) and GA4 analytics cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of VisRank after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
